As an extension of the Rooster of the Month tradition, I organised a secret ballot for Rooster of the Year as a culmination of everyone’s contributions throughout 2018. The winner was Bec Dujin, and as soon as I’d collected the votes I set to work on a full-body illustration of her to be laser cut onto two-tone rose gold acrylic by Sydney business Online Laser Cutting and mounted on a trophy by local boys Purnell Trophies. The trophy turned out great, and looks entirely different depending on how the light hits it. I had to keep all of this a secret for almost two months, and it was killing me.
